100% Natural, Kind, + Conscious Beauty

vegan * cruelty-free * handmade in Orange County, CA

“Finding beauty in imperfection, valuing simplicity and authenticity, embracing the connectedness of all things, & respecting the integrity of natural objects and processes”

Wabi-sabi Botanicals is beyond what you would expect and imagine in beauty and skincare products today. Combining natural ingredients, many of which are organic, all cruelty-free, all vegan, and unique ingredients, these are created with unconditional love and packaged into reusable glass containers! Natural, beautiful, and sustainable.

One of my favourite facial masks as recommended is KUSALA ‘MERITORIOUS ACTION’. This gentle mask combines kaolin clay, pink rose, matcha green tea, and rosehip to provide a beautiful, purifying, anti-aging, feel good mask. Instantly after using the mask, my skin feels incredible. This is definitely my go to mask which I really need to make some time for this week. Just thinking about it makes me want to pamper my skin and make it look and feel beautiful.

The other masks also have a place depending on your skin tone and personal preference. I originally thought I would like ARAHANT ‘PURE ONE’ the best as I love seaweed. I only tried a sample of this which is possibly why I still prefer KUSALA, but I really felt like a mermaid. I love the combination of sea clay, organic kelp, and organic chlorella algae. I have such a love for the ocean, and these powerful ingredients combine to create a mineral-rich mask, mostly helpful for oily, acne-prone skin types. For those cacao and coffee lovers, SAMPAJANNA ‘PRESENCE OF MIND’ might just be your go to. It combines Moroccan Rhassoul clay, organic raw cacao, and organic fair trade coffee for a rich, energizing mask. I love that all of the masks come in dry form which can be activated with water for a fresh facial that is pure, preventing mold or bacteria growing, and extending the shelf life.

I was following up my masks with AKALIKO ‘TIMELESS’ until now when I have been experimenting with MAGGA. AKALIKO is an interesting combination of oils combining argan oil, rosehip see oil, vitamin e, and optional essential oils. I opted for no essential oils this time. A little goes a long way, but a few drops massaged into your clean skin is essential. Also, you can use it to fade and prevent stretch marks. I have not personally tried this, but I definitely think it sounds great for expecting Mamas or Mamas who need it. Akaliko comes in a beautiful eco-friendly amber glass bottle.

Another alternative oil I have tried is MAGGA ‘PATH OUT OF SUFFERING’, a light balancing and healing oil including kukui nut oil, argan oil, jojoba oil, vitamin e oil, and optional essential oils. I am currently using this one which I follow up after my cleansing grains. I am really loving it. I have yet to be dissatisfied with any Wabi-Sabi Botanical products. They all seem to amaze me. I love how beautiful my skin feels. My only disappointment to all of them, is simply the fact that I do not get to consistently use them as a busy Mama (which is partly why this post has taken me so long), but I am working on it. I am learning that self-love is important and essential when caring for others. These products have given me a little bit of me time and made me feel like a beautiful Mama.

SAGGA ‘Heavenly Realm’ charcoal + rose cleansing grains is my personal favourite at the moment. It combines gluten free oats, kaolin clay, activated bamboo charcoal, and pink rose. My skin feels so soft and is left feeling completely clean, refreshed, and rejuvenated. Another success to add to my growing Wabi-Sabi products!

Although I have not tried all of the products, I am extremely interested in many and can almost guarantee they are just as lovely. I love getting updates on new listings. The current new listing that really seems to catch my eye is JIVA ‘LIFE’ which is a mist that combines distilled water, Hawaiian black lava salt (with activated coconut shell charcoal), Bolivian pink sea salt, coconut oil, soy glycerin, and marshmallow root extract. This can be used not only as a toner, but as a mist through your hair to create a beach look.

RAWR ~ Buy Local, Buy Fresh

“The best way to eat and drink is one that makes you feel healthy and happy!”

Buy local, buy fresh.

Live in Orange County?

Rawr delivers creative and organic plant-based food right to your door. Whatever your personal goals or detox plans may be, rawr will work with you to create custom meal plans or even cater events.

Besides the creativity involved, Josh sources organic and often locally sourced ingredients to create these beautiful and satisfying plant-based dishes. As a classically trained chef, he brings his experience and gained insight toward health to deliver an incredible menu full of snacks, entrees, sweets, and sips as well as favorites that are always available, including: street tacos, pizzas, and nut mylks. I love the idea of ordering the kitchen sink which includes a few days worth of food; however, you can also order as little as you like if that suits.

As a raw vegan in Orange County (or anyone with an interest in health and keen to try new things), Shakti Juice & rawr have you sorted! The energy that flows within the organic, cold pressed juice and raw plant-based meals is amazing. Both companies reflect important sustainable practices and products that encompass holistic health. These companies may align for you whether you are coming off a juice fast and wanting to eat some raw gourmet food delivered to your door, or you may drink Shakti Juice and order the one off or weekly meal from rawr. The beauty is that these products are available and ready for whenever you choose! Locally sourced, locally made.

Pizza Fiesta & Raw Street Tacos

I am incredibly grateful for crossing paths with rawr through Instagram and being able to try out some of their incredible food. Have you ever tried raw pizza or raw tacos? I love playing around in the kitchen and making my own food, but there is also something amazing about being able to enjoy fresh raw food that someone else has created for you. I love supporting local, raw, vegan, organic food, especially food made with love. The amount of detail and energy that goes into creating rawr food is noticeable with every bite. Even through lengthy processes of dehydration, fermentation, soaking, and sprouting, their intention for nutritional and flavorful food will bring you positive energy and make you feel good. Eat local, eat fresh.

Order from Rawr!

Our Little Conscious Consumer

Standard

We have entered one of the photos of Zaedyn, our little conscious consumer, drinking his Rock Star storybook tea from Wildflower Botanicals in the Conscious Consumer Photo Competition. We would love your support just by tweeting, liking, voting, or sharing our photo :)

Eco friendly competition
Conscious Consumers is currently running a photo competition to bring their badges to life. If you do not already know about them, they accredit businesses and help you find and discover ways to be socially responsible and environmentally friendly. You can even earn free stuff by supporting businesses through the website or smartphone app.

The current badges fall under Community, Smart Waste, and Ethical Products which include: Local, Food rescue, BYO containers, Recycling, Eco-packaging, Composting, Eco-cleaners, Free range, Fair trade, Sustainable fish, Vege/Vegan, and Organic. I look forward to watching the expansion across New Zealand where you will be able to find accredited business wherever you go. Although I do not have a flash phone, anyone with smartphones can quickly find certain badges within regions throughout New Zealand.

Zaedyn is drinking Wildflower Botanicals tea which is organic and local from Kaikoura. He was also eating lovingearth raw vegan chocolate. The bag the tea comes in is also recyclable so this photo incorporates many Conscious Consumer badges. Thanks heaps for supporting our lil conscious consumer! We joined a bit late so have been trying to work our way up, but there are still 14 days to go if you wish to enter as well.

ecostore

Would you like to be sent an ecostore cleaning pack with 1 500ml laundry liquid, 1 500ml dish liquid, 1 auto dish tabs, 1 spray cleaner, 1 toilet cleaner, 1 lemongrass soap, and 1 bucket as part of our Vegan & Eco-Friendly Giveaway?
Ecostore
We use a range of ecostore cleaning products throughout our house. The best part about these products is that they don’t test on animals. Ecostore products do not contain horrible chemicals, and they are a healthier alternative concerned with the environment and sustainability.

I think it is awesome to see how this dream began and how this local business has become so successful and contributed to protecting our environment. The products are easily accessible across supermarkets nationwide as well as many other shops. I have seen Bin Inn carry some of the bigger refill items. We try to reuse what we can by saving containers and refilling them rather than continuing to buy small items every time.

Besides their awesome products, ecostore has a blog which “discusses eco and health related issues, including natural parenting, allergies, art, culture, politics and the stuff that matters most…” It is definitely worth checking out, and I love the way that this company focuses on the overall well-being of the environment, not just specifically their products.

If you haven’t tried any ecostore products, make sure that you do. Eco-friendly products, especially cleaning ones, can sometimes be overlooked and thought not to work as well, but I can assure you that is not what we have experienced. They are definitely a much better choice than other products with chemicals because they do a great job as well as help protect the environment. We do not have any harsh chemical products around our house. You will only find ecostore!

Do you have a favourite ecostore product that you use or something that you would like to try?

It is hard to choose a favourite, but the product we definitely use the most is the hand wash. We have not actually tried the auto dish tabs yet, but we do use the powder. Make sure to check out the ingredients as a lot of products are vegan, but not all of them 🙂

Make sure to enter our giveaway for your chance to win this amazing ecostore cleaning pack.
